about
microD – Salone Migrante del Design Indipendente is a unique initiative that creates a link between independent designers and the commercial realities of provincial capitals. For each participating store, a designer's project is showcased in the window, with the display being a collaborative effort between the store owner and the designer. This serves as an initial form of collaboration.
The idea behind this initiative is twofold: to bring independent creativity and culture to places where it is often underrepresented, and to spark interest and curiosity in a public that is not typically exposed to the creativity of larger cities.
Independent designers in store windows and special projects throughout the city, curated and artistically directed by Gianmaria Sforza, define the event.
This first edition takes place in Piacenza, Gianmaria Sforza's hometown, and future editions will be seen in other locations.
The first edition features designers including A4A, Alessandro Gnocchi, Martinelli Venezia with Alessandro Stabile, Mezzoatelier, Veronica Lenza, scatter-d, Studio Gianmaria Sforza, Studio Intervallo, Studio Traversi, and special projects by Francesco Bombardi, Hypereden with Studio Gisto, Simone Rovellini, and Filippo Vogliazzo.
